Hi, recently I replaced my hard drive with a new one and then installed win 8 and now i am having all kinds of problems. I have gotten various error codes and messages saying various things. My question is should i just start all over and begin anew. If so, do I reformat the new hard drive and then try to install win 8 again. I have tried to re-install the OS alone and i still have the problems. I have multiple licenses with this Disk and i have used the disk before on other systems. So i know it is good. But i still have those problems saying things like certain files missing and certain things failed. I must say this is the first time i have replaced a hard drive then installed a new OS. So i could have skipped something i should have done like certain drivers or such. Please help i am at wits end. Thanks for any help.

okay, which drivers do i start with and i want to make sure i get all the necessary ones.

I'm sorry if I sound stupid but if i reformat won't it clear the drivers and then how do i get them on the system with no OS. What are the steps i need to take? Do i put them on the computer before the reformat ????

After reading your post i tried to reformat and the system wouldn't allow me saying the drive i was trying to reformat held the OS and it wouldn't allow me to reformat

I have never did that before, when i put the disc in it tries to install. How would i format off the boot disc?

okay, i'll try that. Thanks for the help i started this thinking it was going to be simple and then things got complicated very quickly.

That's a good idea, specifically which drivers do i need to download (so i don't miss any, i don't think about) thanks.
