CPU: Ryzen 5800x
RAM: 32Gb 3600Mhz
GPU: RX 6700 XT
Motherboard: Asus prime x470 pro
Monitor: Gigabyte M32U

I windows desktop (display settings) have all resolutions up to 4k with a refresh rate of 144Hz. My issue is with games, when I play games (obviously my RX 6700 XT cant hadle all games in 4k) then I use 1440p or 1080p my monitor has a max refresh rate of 120Hz. I've updated drivers for the (GPU and Monitor), the firmware of the Monitor, and disabled Free sync, nothing helped. Can someone help me?

hm, the specification of the monitor was misleading, the manual clearly says that hdmi and dp is providing all your resolutions with 144Hz.
maybe you have to use custom resolutions with refresh rate 144

No I haven't create or use custom resolution, there is an strange thing, while I'm in game and in-game resolution is 1440p AMD drivers utility shows that my resolution is 4k and my refresh rate range is 20-120hz... very strange... maybe it's windows problem idk what to do.

...1440p or 1080p my monitor has a max refresh rate of 120Hz
the monitor specifically states,
"120Hz for Console Game*"

i would take this to believe that any resolution lower than native leads the display to "think" it is a game console and auto adjusts the refresh rate to 120Hz for some reason.

hopefully there would be some way to disable an option like this.
maybe in the display OSD menu?

IDK there is one particular game that works fine in all resolution and has 144hz... I think maybe it is something with windows, I'll reinstall it this week and check if it will solve my issue

any fps limiter enabled?

try making a custom resolution with 4k and 144Hz
is the native resolution in windows 4k with 144Hz?

try a different cable
Native resolution is 4k 144hz, no I dont have any FPS limiter, in the video FPS that you can see is builtin monitor soft that actually shows monitor framerate its just call FPS.

Also when I change resolution in game from 4k to anything else, my screen does go black for a second but game just resizes says it is at new resolution, but on the screen you can clearly see after it blinks black it say Display Port 3840x2160 it stays in 4k.

I have in list of valid mode
2560x1440p 144hz

I think my monitor is thinking that my pc is console or something, in-game I change resolution to 1440p game graphic downscale but actual monitor resolution stays 2160p and refresh rate drops to 120hz. I'v reinstalled windows 10 to windows 11 but it not helped.

I'v fix it, all I have done is I enabled GPU Scaling in AMD Software, now in -game its 144hz on all resolutions.
