I was looking to purchase a new monitor, preferable >100Hz, and I quickly found out that I do not have that much money to dish out. I knew that monitors were overclockable, but I never knew how to do it. I did some research and I found out how to do it on my AMD GPU. My question is how far will I probably be able to push my monitor before it suffers damage and is it possible to break my monitor all together. I don't know if it will make any difference but pretty much the only game that I get over 60fps is CSGO.

This is the monitor I have: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VS228H-P-1920x1080-Back-lit-Monitor/dp/B005BZNDOO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498500052&sr=8-1&keywords=VP228H

Another point of consideration. Monitors designed for refresh rate overclocking have a checkbox in the monitor's settings so all you have to do is check off the box if you want to run from 144hz to 160hz. So they've been previously configured to run this way. If your monitor doesn't have an overclock feature I would just leave it the way it is. If you burn out the monitor you have, either way you'll have to "dish out" the cash.
