Refurbishing old PC, what gfx card should I use.

I'll start this thread by saying I am a cheap man. I have an old PC with an IPIBL-LB motherboard, a Core 2 Duo CPU, 1GB of RAM, and no dedicated graphics card. I am thinking about bringing it back to life and only keeping the motherboard and HDD that it already has. This will also be my first PC build. I have already found some nice deals on 8GB of DDR2 RAM(what the motherboard supports), and an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550, but I don't really know what graphics card I should use. I was thinking about a GTX 570 as they go for relatively cheap these days, but it has a rather high power consumption. I'm not looking forward to run the newest games as I am pretty sure that wouldn't be possible with these components, but still it will I think be fine for browsing the internet or playing an old game or two. I currently don't have the budget to invest on a completely new system, and even upgrading this one will be gradual, so for now that's out of the question. Thanks for reading through.
