Reinstall windows on a new SSD with same old Motherboard?

Ok so how is everyone? Thanks for taking a look as well!

Now I have a corsair neutron, but its giving me issues. corsair wants to rma the device. Ok with me. BUT they recommended not cloning a disk that can be faulty. Ok again with me. So i'm on w8.1 pro with media center that I upgraded to from windows store, but can I reinstall a freshly windows 8 pro from my disc onto a new SSD and then wipe the neutron before sending it back to them? Otherwise I don't know what to do without spending money on windows software again 🙁

Its an OEM disk as well from Newegg purchase if that matters.

Kinda confused, like do you have another drive right now? Or are you waiting for them to send you one? Do you have sensitive information on your old SSD? Basically as long as you have that OEM copy of windows you can reinstall without any problems onto a new drive. All you have to do is when you're installing just enter the Product key.

OEM versions of Windows are tied to the computer, so you can replace a component with no issues. Installation on the new drive should be no problem, make sure you have your Windows and Media Center registration keys before you start (programs such as SIW can retrieve these keys from your current installation if you can't find them). If Windows won't activate online, just call Microsoft at the phone number listed on-screen and tell them you had to replace a bad hard drive and they'll activate it for you.

You shouldn't have any problem installing your OS on a new drive on your computer.
The OS communicates with your motherboard, so as long as it's the same one you shouldn't have any problem.
If it occurs however, as @LordConrad already mentioned you can call Microsoft for support and use phone activation but the same Product Key that is supplied with your OEM disk should work for you.
However, before installing Windows on your new drive, disconnect the existing in order to avoid confusion during the installation process. This will also stop Windows Setup from creating a dual-boot configuration.

Ok thanks everyone! I didn't know how windows would react to a reinstall. I knew its kinda tied to the motherboard but wasn't sure how it worked with hdd/ssd since there's cloning software and all. But yea I'm just gonna reinstall Windows 8 Pro version with no media center and start fresh. The whole media center was a hassle from having it before. I ordered a 840 evo 250gb thanks to bing points for $100 to load the OS on now. Once I get back my other ssd I'll use that for the games that I'm currently playing. New ssd should arrive in about 5 days. Thanks everyone again for clarifying!
