Reinstalled ram computer black screens

So I noticed my computer was only reading 1 of my 2 4gb sticks so I tried taking them out and putting them back in but now my computer just black screens when I try to turn if on. Please send help I'm not amazing with hardware.

Did you press the RAM in to hard when you reinstalled it? If you put too much pressure on RAM when you install it, you can damage your motherboard.
