Ok look, Ive been trying to solve my USB driver problem for 3 days already, and none of them are success. So I decided to do a windows reinstall, or refresh maybe? without losing any data or files or even installed program inside my windows, it means this is not formatting. Maybe with reinstalling, I hope it can overwrite my current windows data (which is broken) with a new windows (that Im going to install). I have windows 7 ultimate SP1 and an ISO for windows installation which is not including SP1, is it working? If not, I will download the SP1 iso later.

First, I can only make an installation in boot section because Im not able to get into desktop since all my usb ports are not working and the mouse and keyboard will also not working, so I cant control my desktop.

Second, I want to make sure I wont lose any files during the reinstallation since I dont have any external to make backup of my files or data.

Third, sorry for my bad English.

i guess even with a repair you will lose some programs,
if you want to save your data , copy your data to other partition or drive and reinstall the programs
or else take an image of your present partition, if you want for later use and do a fresh install, if you want to overcome your usb problems

If you did install this will format the c:\ but the files you have in another drive will be remain.. as phillip said do a backup before formatting windows..
Also you said your USB not working in BIOS you have to enable your keyboard and mouse, USB settings go each and every options... check out with the USB..
All will be fine soon..

If you only let windows installation overwrite your previous installation it will not format your drive and you will not lose any data like Word files etc. You will lose the ability to run the programs you have installed and will have to re-install them again. Your old User dir, Program Files, Program Files (86) and Program Data directories will be saved under a new dir called OldWindows (or something like that) but even if you copy these to the new installation you still can not run your old programs because you have lost the registry entries for them and they must be re-installed but all your old User directory files like MY Music, My Pictures, My documents etc will be saved in the new oldwindows dir under your user name. I have done this at least 7 times and without a format and never losing files.

Good luck
