Reinstalling Windows 7

I'm using Windows 7 again after spending a couple years with a Mac. I've done the usual install-uninstall-reinstall with a million different applications and drivers and Windows is getting slow and buggy with too many hoops to jump through to track down all the problems. I want to reinstall.

On the Mac (and Linux) restoring my settings was as simple as keeping my user directory and application directories. I've used basically every version of Windows since 95 and know it's never been that easy. I was hoping maybe things have changed and there's an easier way to restore all my settings. I haven't been able to dig up anything useful. Can anyone give me some tips? Thanks!

At this point only bakcup your files are only option.
Once you fully clean install Windows 7 + all the update for the win 7
Then create the restore point where it's very newer.
Next time when you face with problems just restore to your very first point.
Windows are still not being cloud backup system yet.
Therefore linux and mac os are better then windows some part of attitude.
Well good luck ~~
