[SOLVED] reinstalling windows 7

The registries are corrupt, are there any chances of reinstalling windows 7(genuine version which i have) and then find updates for it? as the microsoft has stopped its services for windows7.

it's been quite a few years since i've run a 7 build. what shows when running Windows Update?

your best option may just be to search for an ISO or install package of the latest retail version that was released and using your own serial to install.

more information would need to be provided before any solution could be proposed.

are you getting error messages about particular entries or just about the registry in general?
is Windows loading, crashing, freezing?
what happens when you try to run Windows repair options from within Windows or from the installation disk?
what type of backup options do you use?

system specs and any other info you can provide can always help make troubleshooting easier.

I would assume you will get all the Windows 7 updates up until MS stopped supporting it. I say this as Even with a Windows XP install, you will get updates.
