Hi all,
I've looked around a bit at this and cannot seem to find much besides, in search, that Sabrent and Micron Technologies are two entirely separate companies. Bing AI gives this, not particularly specific info:
"Micron Technology competes with other companies that design and manufacture memory and storage products for various applications and markets, such as Intel, Samsung Electronics, Western Digital, etc. Sabrent is more focused on designing and manufacturing storage products such as SSDs which may compete with some of Micron Technology’s products, but not all of them. "
I bought a Crucial MX500 1TB for my wife's older machine to replace the stock HDD. In using AOMEI Partition Assistant, the MX500 shows up as Disk Model: Sabrent
Can anyone explain this?
I know Crucial is under Micron. Sabrent seems to be its own company though. I mean, does it matter in the end? No. But I like to know who's who. Sabrent branded drives are more expensive than Crucial branded, but if they are identical, then it makes sense to go with the cheaper branding, hence the reason I ask. It also helps others in making informed decisions to save money, IMO.
