There's no such thing as a most reliable graphics card for a certain board. There's not such thing as a most reliable graphics card at all. Any card from any brand can break for numerous reasons.

windows 7 pro,bios vers 08.00.04 intel core 2 quad (4cpu ) 23.8 ghz, 5632 in ram and expanding another 2 tb i use 2 1tb externals as we speak pg file 1855mb used, 4285mb avail does that help

It does a bit. Your power supply is pretty important too, both brand and type.

Next there's the amount of money you're willing to spend on it and what you wish to do with the computer. For example play games, rendering stuff or just some internetting and office work.

A Radeon HD7870XT is a nice card for a not that high price. It's about €200 here in the Netherlands. Just make sure that your power supply can handle it.
