Hello!

I haven't kept up to date on the laptop market in the last couple of years. My dad is looking for a sub-£2000 laptop to handle any and all CAD-related functions. Asides from the obvious base performance requirements for this, his main priorities are build-quality, longevity and reliability (because it's used for work). No aesthetics/gimmicks/frills required.

Any suggestions on the current best options? Mainly just looking for pointers on where to start researching.

Thanks for any and all help!

I suggest that you start your search with the Lenovo ThinkPad P52s. It has sufficient storage, powerful processor, and also a decent graphics card to handle all CAD-related functions.

Also, take a look at the HP Omen X 2S. It is also a feature-packed model and can handle CAD and other similar powerful tools and applications.
