I received a MsRcIncident file to do a remote assistance to a friend.
However, I don't know why but when I open the MsRcIncident file, Windows
tells me that no application is associated to this file type. I know that
Remote Assistance is supposed to start automatically when I open the
MsRcIncident file, but this does not work. Can you help me ?

This does not help at all. The problem is that when I open the
MsRcIncident invitation, Windows asks me which program use
to open MsRcIncident file. So I think it's a registry problem
with file type association. Can you help me ?

Try a Repair setup. That will repair the registry, in most cases.

If you run an XP "Upgrade"setup, from the original, or "Gold" version of the setup CD, and you have SP2 installed, it might go into
a setup loop, and you could lose your install. Uninstall SP2, BEFORE you Upgrade setup from CD (that lacks sp2 on it.)
