Removal of AMD FX 8350 Stock Fan

Hi! Recently I bought a cooler master 212 EVO because my amd stock fan was being too loud, however the stock fan and heatsink was a pain to put on in the first place, and now it's a pain to take off, I've unplugged the CPU FAN from the mobo, but when I try to flip the latch at the top to let me remove the CPU, I feel a lot of strain when I push it. Anyone know if this is normal for the fx8350? Thanks!!

The AMD stock cooler is a pain to work with. The amount of force it took you to flip it one way will be mirrored the other way, so just keep trying to flip it.

It shouldnt, but it does take some personal decisions to decide if its too stuck.
It will take more force than you think.

This may sound insane but turn the PC on and let the CPU warm up a little, shut it down and then immediately try to remove the heatsink (assuming you've disengaged the clip). The heat will make the thermal compound a bit pliable and removable. You may want to use a glove so you don't burn yourself if it gets real hot..

Thanks, the clip is the main thing I'm worried about. Because when I try to flip it - it causes a lot of strain. My original hyper 212 EVO came broken so I had to get and new one and I'm going to install it today, I just really don't want it to break if I put too much pressure on the clip

Yeah those clips on AMD's are brutal. Try gently but firmly pushing down on the heatsink while trying to remove the clip. That has helped me in the past.
