Question Remove write rights to Chrome extenstions/themes/settings

How would one with administrative permissions go about blocking users without administrative permissions from editing (adding or removing) extensions, themes and settings in Google Chrome for Mac OS X 10.10?

That's quite a specific problem.

You might have to resort to 3rd party programs to do it for you, if there are any.

Otherwise, I highly doubt you can have such specific rules on your google chrome.

Wouldn't it be possible to chmod the extensions folder?
Being able to block extensions being edited would suffice.

I don't know if file permissions carry into the browser itself though. It's worth a try at least.

Well I would assume it would carry over, it would ask for the admin's password to edit it, would it not? I'll try chmod 555. (r-xr-xr-x)

I don't really know chmod, but if you do 555 doesn't that give equal permissions to all users?

Well 4 read but 5 is read and execute, neither have write, and I'm not sure if I want the first one to be 7, might give them write permissions, will test it out.

I'm getting this weird bug when I add an extension the screen goes black then returns to the login screen, this is with chmod on any settings (even 777)
