Removed capacitor Lf 270 C 3XC

Hi ,please the capacitor named LF 270 C 3XC on my gigabyte gtx 780 is removed due to poor post office handling. I figured it's a 16V capacitor so I want to know if I can replace it with any 16V capacitor or I can only replace with the same capacitor type . Thanks

I really wouldn't know if that cap is special or not, but what I do know is voltage is less important that capacity. Meaning, you could use a 25v without any problems (but don't go lower than original), as long as it's the same size in μF

That is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, 16v, 270 uF. It should be replaced with an identical cap. You can get these from Digikey, Radio Shack, and Ebay. Make sure the replacement is rated for 105C.

Yes, but best if you get one close to the same voltage. The voltage rating is the maximum it's designed for, so if you put 16v into a 25v capacitor it will only store it at 16v. In the past I've fix a couple of monitors that used both 10v and 25v 470μF caps, I only had 25v replacements and they worked just fine (they were bigger than they need to be for the 10v but they still fitted fine).

Any good capacitor will be rated for 105C, just be sure to buy one that has that rating.

Where did you get the card from? The safest course would be to return the card to the seller for replacement.

How are your soldering skills? Do you have the proper tools?
