Hello
I was thinking of removing the bezels on 3 of my ASUS VS228DE as I want to use them for triple monitor gaming, however the bezels are distracting.
I have a triple monitor stand on the way, the monitors are VESA compatible.
Some people that have removed bezels on their monitors say you need washers to use it on a triple monitor stand.
I was wondering if this is true, if so, is it possible to just keep the back?
Thanks :)

when you remove the bezel, you are removing the entire plastic panel behind the screen. there will be no area for mounting behind the screen. you will either need to glue it, use super strong tape, or EXTREMELY carefully drill holes if there is an area for it, but that is dangerous. i've done it with three of my vg248qe. i used scotch 10lb clear mounting tape, but mine were only leaning against the mount in tripple portrait surround. i cant say how tape would hold up when mounted landscape.

How come they wont be mountable? They are built in to the monitor itself so how would removing it affect it? I am really confused on this :3

when you remove the bezel, you are removing the plastic edging around the screen first. this plastic edging also holds the screen onto the entire plastic backing which will come right off when the edge is removed. the plastic backing has the mounting holes. when you take the plastic backing off you are left with bare, flat metal behind the screen with no mounting holes.

this is what the back of a monitor with no bezel looks like:

Ah I see, isn't it a bit weird though, the fact that your monitors are being held up by a bit of plastic. 😵

yea i thought the same thing when i did it. i didnt know i couldnt mount it till i took the bezel off too. if you are gonna do it in landscape do some research on what people used. dont want you to mount it and come home with broken monitors on your floor.

What's the solution then? I want to play on triple while having a stand but the bezels will are 17mm and when put next to eachother obviously double that...I don't know if it will annoy me or not 🙁
