I get the following error when I attempt to rename a Windows 2000 machine.
The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentilas. I
can't find the computer name in Active directory anywhere. How can resolve
this so I can rename the computer what I want it to be.

Make sure you have no mapped network drives when you
attempt to rename the PC. If you have some, knock them
out first!

Hi,

Thanks for posting!

I understand that you attempt to rename a Windows 2000£¬it says "The
credentials supplied conflict with an existing set of credentials." If I
have misunderstood your concerns, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks for Pegasus's helpful suggestion. You may verify if there are some
mapped drives. If so, please disconnect them and try it again. Windows 2000
does not allow you to make multiple connections to a shared network server
from the same workstation if you attempt to use more than one set of
credentials. I would like to provide you with the following article for
