Repair/Format External HD

So yesterday I bought an external HD enclosure and took my 1TB Hitachi HD from my old PC and put it in the enclosure. I was gonna use it on my MAC but it was read only. I decided to format it on the PC, and after that it went to hell. On the MAC it won't initialize and it takes me to Disk Utilitiy. I tried Disk Warrior but just got stuck on Step 1, tried TechTools but it took over 16 hours, then tried TestDrive on the PC, and it says no partition bootable. I just want to be able to use this HD on the MAC, no need to recover anything from it. Just make it a working external HD for Backup purposes.

Oh, I don't care about the data. it was empty to begin with, I just want to be able to use it as an external HD.
