I replace the RAM in my computer (8GB DDR3 to 16GB DDR3).

I ensured they were seated properly, did not see any loose/disconnected cables to the motherboard.

Connected monitor, keyboard, mouse and power supply and attempted to start the computer. After pressing the power button, you could hear the optical drive start, , but then would stop after a couple seconds, and would repeat.

I shut down the power supply, disconnected everything, removed both sides to my case. Checked all connections again, removed and reseated the original RAM into the slots. Plugged back in the power supply and pressed the power button, and still received the same couple second powering on. All of the fans would spin momentarily while it was acting s if starting up. The small power indicator light (marked "PW-SW") is illuminated steady while the PSU is plugged in.

I have the memory modules seated in the DDR3_1 and DDR3_2 slots.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3h
Current RAM: 8GB (2 x 4GB) Corsair Vengeance

Any insight/ideas!!??
