Replacement motherboard screws?

So I'm starting a build for a friend. And he has a case but the case doesn't have screws for the standoffs. Is there anyway I can go to a hardware store and buy screws to replace them? Like I can just take the case in and try them out? Or is it even possible to go to a store and find screws that would work?

Don't take the whole case. Just take one of the standoffs.

you can buy the screws and fittings as they are standardized for things like standoffs. (they have to be so all atx boards fit all atx cases, for instance)
chances are a quick visit to your local refurb/repair shop will get you everything you need for a couple of quid.

If it has the holes for the stand-offs, you can buy them without even taking one with you. They are a standard size and a set with enough standoffs for an EATX board costs only pocket change. Some shops may even give you some for free if you ask, since they're so dirt cheap.

If you're going to a hardware store, you'll need to take something with you for sizing. One of the standoffs.
If you're going to a local computer store...NOT BestBuy...they will have bins full of the proper size screws.
