Replacing BT HH3 with Asus modem router

Do you know of a step by step guide for a non-techi to replace HH3 with a better router? I have bought an Asus modem router but every time I try to set it up I get stuck with error messages saying there is no WAN connection.

WAN connection is Wide Area Network ie Internet. You will probably need to type in a username and password and possibly some other details for your internet connection in the routers control panel. On my router there were a few little settings such as MTU that needed to be tweaked, so it's probably best if you find a list of settings for your ISP on the internet. If you can't find one contact your provider.
