Hello
Its been a while I've been out of the computer building hobby and haven't kept up

I'm looking for a replacement for the following cpu
Intel Core i5-3330 Ivy Bridge 3.0GHz (3.2GHz turbo) Quad Core 6000K
It has a LGA1155 socket

Due to circumstances I can't upgrade right now and need as low cost as possible replacement but
I've seen i7 suggested as suitable so I rather ask a question or two before buying i7

Recommendations?

The CPU linked is an i5. I would spend a little more. The Xeon shown above for example, I saw one on eBay for 50 dollars. The i7 3770 is about 65-70. So you'd be best to go one of those routes.

The i5 isn't as good for gaming anymore and would probably limit you.
