Hope i put this thread in a proper category, couldn't find power supply 😛. Anyway, can anyone tell me if its possible to replace DELL psu out of an optiplex desktop and add 500w or 600w to it, so that i could get a better graphics card in it! Appreciate your help.. 😀

Well i have to agree on the non standard power connections.

Changing motherboard as well should be fine when using an m-atx motherboard, but that might require a new installation of windows as well.Maybe you're in luck and will it start.if it doesn't do you need to reinstall for sure.
Can try anyway,if starts might a new activation be enough,if it doesn't is reinstalling necessary.Make a back-up before going this route.
The case seems to be atx so a normal atx psu should fit.

I can also get a windows ready motherboard?

All are.

I think you can try the oem key for a new install.I know it's linked to the motherboard, but it can be done.Just try it first, might have to call microsoft for a new activation.
If windows starts anyway without new install (which you can try) could you start the pc and go to "system" and the "windows in activated" will have turned into a link to activate it again, click that and follow the steps.A call to an automated activation is one of the possibilities, other is to actiavte it by internet, it then will activate in three days by itself,if you choose the latter leave the clock alone,if changing time will it get alot harder. This will only work if the old windows boots.

Looking at the case is the one you have also atx standard so would it be fine for just adding a new cpu+m-atx motherboard,a new one could, and probaby would, have better airflow, but maybe the moderator has personal experience with this Dell pc (?) and am i wrong.
