Question Replacing Hrd Disk

I took out SATA 1TB hard disk(win10 installed) from broken Dell Inspiron 5547(i5) and want to replace in my current working Laptop Lenovo Thinkpad T430 (hard disk is 320GB HDD). I never did before.Kindly let me know the steps to replace it,please

You can (probably) use the physical drive.

You can't use the OS, software, and license on it.

Thank you for answer. I am not pc expert. What do you mean by physical drive ?
I thought i will format the hard disk and installed saved windows 10 ??
I donot know much ??

Yes, a fresh OS install, in the desired laptop.
That will work.

Assuming it is a SATA III HDD, and you extract it from the Dell, and install it in the Lenovo, it should work.
Assuming, of course, that the drive is not itself defective.
