replacing samsung galaxy S4 motherboard

Hi everyone. I was asked to replace the motherboard of a samsung galaxy S4.

i was told that the phone company was on boost mobile. But the S4 was a sprint phone.

would i have to find a replacement motherboard that comes from either of these companies?
would i be wrong to assume that the phone is unlocked? and if it is, would it matter at all which company the replacement motherboard comes from?

i was thinking of getting one from amazon or ebay. i haven checked into getting one from samsung themselves. how would getting it from samsung be helpful?

I'd just get one from Samsung. Then hopefully it won't be locked.
