Question replacing wifi card in toshiba satellite

I have a realtek RTL8188CE wifi adapter in my Toshiba Satellite L755D, which worked more or less in windows, but not in Linux. I'd like to replace it with an intel PCI card, but don't know how to identify which card would be compatible with this model. I don't want to go USB unless there is no alternative. Any thoughts?

Most of those things are pretty generic, you would have to just load the drivers from the card vendor. In a few models they do lock down the BIOS to not detect all brands of cards but that is rare.
