Yeah, I think eventually some of these cards (7850, GTX 660) will begin to drop into the sweet spot. Sure, the HD 8000 series is coming up, but they won't phase out the 7000 series immediately, just knock a bit off the price and let it fill in some gaps in the 8000 lineup the way especially the 6870 has been doing for the 7000 series.

I'm not expecting it to be great, but I might be wrong, so I'd recommend waiting to see how well it turns out to be.

saw a 7850 for $169 after rebate, though the sale ended apparently. keep an eye out for that

For $150 it's going to compete heads up with the Radeon HD 6850? Interesting.
prices are droping, the HD 6850 is now 135$ , HD 7770 125$ and 7770 OC 140$ I'm going to wait for the release of the GTX 650Ti to see if can beat some of these cards i just hope will be priced under 150$ not 170$-190$.

[citation][nom]rdc85[/nom]Somehow i got a feeling that, the gap between 7770 and 7850 will be filled by 8750........Just a guess....[/citation]

Maybe, but that'd probably be the performance gap, not the price point as it stands today with the good 7770s being $120-140 and the good 7850s being $170-220.

[citation][nom]Thomas Creel[/nom]If it is $150 it will have to compete with HD7770 2GB Ghz Edition, I dont think it can...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814121642[/citation]

7770 2GB is a huge waste of money. The 650 Ti is usually faster (although by how much varies greatly with the 7770 catching up as the memory bandwidth needs increase) and neither card is fast enough for 2GB to matter compared to 1GB. Even the much faster 7850 only has a few situations where 2GB models best the 1GB models. The 7850 can reach for the 7770 2GB's price point anyway and is way better than the 650 Ti and the 7770 2GB.
