Maxing out? I suppose for your single monitor. Try that with just three 1080p monitors, which is on the low end for people paying $1k for a graphics card.

I definitely agree there, though I didn't have the problem myself or possibly didn't observe it if I had. I did find it a little peculiar that there were three beta releases within close temporal proximity of each other compared to previous beta release schedules.

The bad part is, if Nvidia starts consistently screwing up their drivers, we may as well all buy consoles (somehow these AMDs won't have microstutter on the consoles) because the alternative is even worse for the PC- AMD. Try rolling with AMD driver releases. They're what pushed me to Nvidia cards. You'll deal with far worse issues than having to reboot your PC each day.

I hope AMD truly picks it up and someone documents it. I would consider going back. I like to have choices, but don't currently see AMD GPUs as a real choice.

Well my 660Ti's are on that driver and they run at full load 24/7 folding and before a reboot yesterday (Origin update) the rig had done nearly five days straight, sounds like your issue is being caused by something else.

That's what I'm thinking. I never heard of some 36-hour glitch before this guy mentioned it, but I hate to just say it doesn't exist because that's what the people used to do to me on the AMD forums when I'd tell them about my flickery screen with my 5850s (the thing that solved my problem was buying some GTX 580s). I'm not getting any BSODs in any games, myself.

Grandmastersexsay, have you tried a different video card? The 700 series hasn't been out a year and should be under manufacturer's warranty. I'd start with an RMA. If that doesn't fix your situation, I'd start looking at your other hardware.

It might be something else. It's always hard to tell for sure, but I think it is all video driver related.

The 36 hour glitch is real. These beta drivers list it as one of the fixes in the release notes. If you are interested you can read up on the 36 hour glitch here.

I had driver issues with a GTS 480 for over a year before Nvidia actually came out with something stable. I guess if stability sold as well as speed, I wouldn't have these problems.

That's not a link to any release notes.

I never said it was. I said this is where you can learn about the 36 hour glitch. Here is the link to the release notes.

The 36 hour glitch is mentioned with this note on page 14.

"TDR error may occur when the system is idle for several hours.[1330455]"

One thing Nvidia once promised us that I've yet to see is the Nvidia video capture capabilities. I thought that would be a cool feature. It was supposed to be released with the drivers by which 700 series cards and above would utilize the GPU hardware to encode to highly compressed video while playing games. No one is talking about that any more. Anyone know what happened to that whole effort?

Shadowplay was due to be released "Summer 2013". The latest word is that it is coming "soon", with no official release date planned as of yet. I wouldn't expect it to drag on for much longer, but there's only 3 weeks left of Summer 2013.

I couldn't remember the name of the feature. Thanks.

I've never been one to record my gaming sessions, but I definitely will once this is released.

Wow. That's nothing. I'll need to get a big drive for my recordings.

I hope they still plan to release it. There's seems to be less info about shadowplay on the Geforce site than there was four or five months ago.

Graphic card companies need 4K monitors to the market at reasonable price... Any cards from 500 or 5000 series can run 1080p at reasonable speed. Ofcourse there are situations where 780 is the deal, but not many at this moment.
Interesting to see how that 20nm production develops. If I don't remember correctly the 32nm and 28nm prosesses were allso suposed to be just fine...

Ya the 7 series was a huge let down. I ended up purchasing another gtx680 off ebay for $200. I blame AMD because Nvidia had no drive. Gtx titan and gtx780 were mid and lower end cards such as gtx670 and gtx660. The ultra was to be the gtx680ish high end card of the 700 series. But AMD didnt release shit. So we got Refresh and overpriced s***

And you found it necessary to double post that because.... ?

But seriously, I hear where you're coming from. If the new 9970 is shooting for Titan/GTX 780 performance, then that means the GK110 chip was actually two generations ahead of AMD when it was first created in 2012. No wonder Nvidia felt little pressure to release their true top-end chip, the competitive pressure just wasn't there. Finally, at the end of 2013, I'm looking forward some competition to drop the price on those GK110 chips.

Im pretty sure I will not be upgrading again until I see gtx 780 speeds at a 300 price point.
