Report: Nvidia readying two new 6xx series GPUs with performance suspiciously similar to the discontinued 580 and 590...

Interesting Nvidia sees how big of an advantage they have so they're putting production of the 6xx series to the max, I think this is a good thing, we should see some nice price decreases very soon and then everyone can buy happily. About time too, I'm still using my invincible 8800gt, best card ever imo.

[citation][nom]MrKKBB[/nom]Better get me a 580 for my GPGPU applications before they are all gone -- can't afford the Tesla and the 680 sucks![/citation]

6970 got a price drop and openCL is pretty mature now, and that card will blow away 580 based Teslas once the market switches off CUDA.

Was the 590 ever more than vaporware? I don't recall ever seeing it instock on newegg...the only people that had them had to jackhammer the f5 key on evga's website like a bangkok whore.

[citation][nom]greghome[/nom]I wouldnt be surprised considering TSMC's "28 yields are not doing so well"[/citation]

That only works with people who know nothing about computers.

what about GTX570 and GTX560 448 core. They are using the same chip are they gonna stop this together now? or they gonna keep producing it and disable even the perfect chip that make it to 580?
