Hello
How many watts of power do you recommend for an older system with the following specifications?
giga
E8500
9300 GT graphic card
4GB ram 1333
How many watts does this system consume at full load?
Is 300 watts of power enough for this system?

Thank you

oh yah. 300w would be plenty :)

65w cpu, 50w gpu. another 100w for the rest of the system. throw in some margin of error and if the psu is good quality, 300w is ample.

i do have to ask though if the psu is as old as the rest of the system? it might want to be replaced just based on the age.

can you provide the psu model you have or are you looking to buy?

50 watts max on gpu; 65 tdp for the cpu

maybe 250 total?

But...you may find it difficult to locate a "good quality" PSU of say 300 or 350 watts.

Leaving aside how old the PSU might be. Or the possible lack of headroom if you intend to upgrade the parts. Or how much risk you want to take.

i went looking for a 350w or so psu recently and could find nothing that wasn't crazy expensive. ended up with a 650w one just due to pricing.

5600gt cpu, one m.2 and literally nothing else. 650w psu. lol

If you have independent knowledge that it "has an acceptable quality", then go for it.

The brand is unknown in the US. I'd guess it is a re-branded PSU made by who knows in China and sold primarily in Asia?

if that is your only option, i'd go with the 400w version. note that the 12v rail on the 300w one only outputs 276w.

the 400w one at least is over 350w. that would give you some room to keep the psu from trying to run near its max.

do you have an online store we can browse a bit to see what is available to you? obviously i've never heard of this psu so no idea if it is junk or not.
