I just upgraded to a AM4 mobo and a Ryzen3 2200g (From AM3+ & FX4300)
After completing the build and clean booting windows i try to install my gpu drivers and it says that "Request is not supported" I tried installing it manually by selecting the folder with the drivers and auto by windows and same results. Then after many days of trying and doing research i installed the drivers somehow after using DDU but then the drivers were old and i couldn't update them by Radeon settings or windows as it would say that the "best drivers are already installed" even tho the installed drivers were year old.
Then i clean booted the OS again and this time it worked , it installed newest drivers and everything ran perfect except for the AMD software being unable to detect drivers for the system.
Then while in a game of PUBG i started to get stutter and frame drops from 120fps to 15-30fps for a split second, then it got worse over the match and after about 20min of playtime the game froze and with it the whole pc, i had to restart the pc. When restarted linked gpu wouldn't show any activity in MSI Afterburner. Primary gpu works perfect but linked would have no input , no monitoring or anything but still showed as working fine in device manager but even in radeon settings it just had no info , it showed up as its there but no info about it was available.
I thought i'll just use DDU and reinstall drivers but the pc will not allow me to enter into safe mode, When in advanced boot settings it only gives me the option to turn off. Please help i dont want to clean boot again as it takes forever and not sure if it will even help.
The pc worked perfect before the upgrade so its super annoying that now it just has all of these issues.

When it comes to installing legacy software for legacy AMD cards it's a little more manual than it should be.
First off, let's make sure you've downloaded the latest Catalyst software
Adrenalin Edition 18.3.3 Optional
https://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+10+-+64

In case you are not on Windows 10 which is what I'm assuming you are on then get the latest for your version of Windows from here
https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMD-Radeon-7000-Series-Drivers.aspx

Once you have it downloaded you need to make sure you have cleaned your PC of all files, programs and drivers associated with the Catalyst software.
Restart you PC.
If you are having trouble with getting rid of everything then go into safe mode.
In regards to your issue with safe mode try one of the following methods found here
https://www.digitalcitizen.life/4-ways-boot-safe-mode-windows-10

Once ready run the installer.
Before the installer actually goes to install it will need to extract the software installer and the drivers. Choose to manually decide where to extract these files. You can do this to a folder on your desktop to make it simpler to locate. Once it's done it will try to run the Catalyst installer. when the Catalyst installer pops up you need to cancel out of this.

Go to your control panel and then go into the device manager,
In here you should be able to see your GPU under Display Adapters.
Right click on your GPU and select "Update Driver"
In the next screen choose "Browse my computer"
now select "let me pick" then click on "Have Disk..."
From here you need to click on "Browse" and navigate to the folder that you extracted the files to on your desktop.
Navigate into the following folders:
Packages>Drivers>Display>WT6A_INF
and then select the INF file most likely labeld C0325741
Once you've selected this file the window should close then clock on the OK button at the top. This should close this window and you should be back at the window that you clicked the Have Disk button on. in here you should now see the drivers for your GPU that you added to the list. choose these drivers and let Windows install them.

Now on to installing the Catalyst software.
Go into the folder on you desktop that you extracted the installer to and right click on the setup.exe file and go to the compatibility tab. choose to run this program in compatibility for windows 8 then select to run as administrator then apply settings and close this window. now double click and run this setup.exe file and go through with the normal installation process. It should successfully install the Catalyst software and your drivers should also be properly installed too since we did this earlier. To open and run the catalyst software that is now installed on you PC you should always run it as administrator and then you can change settings and such from it now.

Hope this helped and please come back if you end up having anymore problems.

After following given steps i got greeted with the same msg "request not supported" (inc. image)
And the gpu shows up as Microsoft basic display adapter which is something i forgot to mention before.

I ran DDU in safe mode and deleted all AMD driver folders that i had previously downloaded so pc should be clean of any drivers except for the freshly downloaded 18.3.3 HD7990 driver for Windows 10 64bit.

Should i run the catalyst install even though drivers failed to install ?
And thank you for helping i was slowly giving up, its just soo annoying.

Could you tell me how do i do that ?
And im on windows10 pro will changing the compatibility mode to win7,win8 help ?
Also maybe i should try installing win10 home ? maybe pro dont like AMD (i know sounds like nonsense but im looking my mind and there shouldnt be anything causing this issue)

it won't matter what version of Windows 10 you use. It could possibly be a bad installation of Windows that is causing this and if you were to downgrade and it fixed it it wouldn't be because you switched to home but because you did a fresh install.

To run a program in compatibility mode you right click on it and go to properties. from here you go to the compatibility tab and then check mark "run this program in compatibility for" and choose windows 8 and it that doesn't work try windows 7. Then at the bottom of this tab you will see a check mark that says "run as administrator" make sure that is ticked as well then click apply and then OK the run the installer.

Ahhh okay i was just thinking of what could be creating this issue.
I ran the AMd setup in win7 and win8 mode ,with both received a notification saying that the build is incompatible.
