required psu for my system

My system config is
core i3 3220
1tb hdd
4gb ddr3
Hd 7750 sapphire
Will seasonic eco 500w or cooler master thunder 500w sufficient for my system.
Currently using iball marathon 500w crap which made my hdd crash.please suggest some other psu within this range if possible.

Definitly yes its realy hight quality and safe pick PSU.

I just checked your specs on online power calculator websites and I think you don't need anything beyond 300 watts for your current needs. If you don't plan on upgrading soon, then I think any 300 watt PSU will be adequate.

Some of the international brands have these ratings for efficiency called bronze, gold and platinum, but any 80+ rating is good as well.

And if you do plan to upgrade soon, then you can add a hundred or so. But 500 and over watts is an overkill for an i3 based desktop.

PS: I suspect the thermals inside your cabinet and not the PSU killed your hdd.

1 of my ram slot also not working which I was using earlier though my system is only 2 months old thats y i'm thinking of changing my psu .

I can relate to you, Dhiraj.

Just 3 weeks ago, I had my first pc built as well. And I was given the iBall and other affordable options too. I had to postpone my purchase by over 6 months due to the exchange rate but mean while, I did a lot of reading on PC builds in this and other forums.

I am sure you know by now that all of these are cheap imports without any warranty or quality inspection.

But know that your motherboard and RAM is guaranteed for 2 - 5 years by the manufacturer. So you probably can get a repair or a refund for the RAM issue.

I am planning to upgrade my PSU as well, to an 80+ one with 300 wattage just to save on the power bill. But since mine is a slim cabinet, I need one that is non-standard size. There is a lot of availability of those in the USA, but here not so much, even if I am willing to pay a slight premium.

So good luck, go with a Corsair and if possible, with a CX series in that. It's more affordable than others and does a good job for it's money. I think it should be under Rs.3000/USD 50.

PS: Don't go with those that have eco or earth in their model name, they are generally for the rich.
