Ok ,first and foremost I know I have made a mistake. I wasn't paying attention.
So I was replacing my old thermal compound with new one, I removed the CPU (Ryzen 5 1500x) in order to clean it properly. When I seated it back into the socket the system actually turned on for no reason. I didn't accidentally press the power button. I immediately switched the PSU off.
The problem is, now windows won't boot. I've tried using a system restore point for last week, and that didn't help. I am currently running dskchk, but it doesn't seem to find any corrupt files in the windows partition... In the BIOS, everything seems normal. Every component shows up as usual.
When I turn the PC on now, it starts an automatic repair, which I guess fails, and defaults to the windows recovery menus, where I can do the thinks mentions above.
What do you guys think? Have I f'ed up my drive? Or something else maybe? How did this happen?
Pls send help!
