Hi there,
This is my first post on these forums because I've always managed to find some sort of answer, but this time I'm really a bit of a pickle.
So I had D: drive on my system which I used to store most of my default windows folders (downloads, desktop, documents etc), but that drive got corrupted and so now I'm left with no folders at all.
I have a backup of some of my documents, and I've already purchased a new drive to replace my old D: drive. But I don't know how to restore my default shell folders.
I've looked in the windows registry, because I know that long time ago I changed some things in there to move my shell folders to my D: drive. But its a long time ago and I don't really know what I did anymore.
I have some screenshots but the forums don't allow me to post them.
The strange thing is that my registry seems to hold some sort of backup folder, I don't know how it got there, which contains the actual paths to my default shell folders.
Long story short, I want to just reset all of this, so I can move my folders back to my new drive once I have it. But I don't know how to do it.
I also don't know if its best to do this now, or to wait untill I have my new drive so I can just put everything on there. So I really need some advice.
Thanks.
