Hi guys,

I'm fairly new here and posted only 1 time before and I've been reading alot of posts and learned that 4k can downscale to 1080p due to correct ratios and 1440p cannot do as good of a job,
I am trying to decide to buy the monitor that would be the most practical to use with a kind of 'all in one' feel.

So simply put I was wondering if a 4k monitor could possibly be downscaled to 1080p and have a refresh rate of 144 or higher? Or is it really just best to have a 1440p 144hz monitor?

EDIT: I did not post only 1 time before haha but still relative

Solution
Very few if any 4K 60 Hz monitors are capable of operating at higher refresh rates when the resolution is lowered. The max will still be 60 Hz.

Thanks for responding man, I was hoping for a 5700xt and I was already sold on 1440p, the reason I'm asking about the 4k monitor is that perhaps there is something obvious I am missing out like, a 4k monitor can do everything a 1440p 144hz one can? so I could watch 4k videos as well as play games on 1440p 144hz or any native scalable resolution like 1080p or 2160p?
1440p 144Hz. You're also going to need a GPU to drive that display. Graphically intensive tasks will demand a beefy GPU as opposed to a task needed for watching YouTube videos at 4K.
