I have a samsung 28" 4k monitor connected to a gtx 980 ti via display port

I can play some games at 1080 1440 and 4k and there are no issues (fallout 4, killing floor 2 lol)

With dying light i can play at 1080 and 1440 but when setting the resolution to 4k it only displays the top left quarter of the screen but it fills the screen, the same happens with the witcher 3 at 1440 and 4k.

Its driving me nuts lol. I`m on windows 10 and the screen is a samsung ud590

Solution
Two options:

1) Set NVidia Control Panel->Adjust desktop... to:
a) Aspect ratio, and
b) Scale by GPU

or

2) Set monitor settings (on monitor) to:
a) scale by aspect

*I use the first one. In that case the GPU would ALWAYS output a 3840x2160 image to the screen and scaling is done on the GPU and adjusted if needed to stretch/scale properly.

On the other hand letting the monitor scale probably works about the same and won't be reset if you reset your NVidia driver settings (which might default to monitor scaling).
