Response Time Setting(Lg monitor)

I have an lg monitor and in the settings of the monitor it has a response time setting which u can choose one of the four values(high,middle,low,off). Can someone explain to me what these values represent and how it affects the monitor?

oh so we can change the response time on our own now. the 1st time i've heard about it.
anywho i googled it abit and found quite a lot of discussion about it. one example is

but most says that middle setting is the best, since using high there's a little input lag increase and lower setting creates more ghosting.

There a setting like that on a lot of monitors, it's an overdrive. On asus it's called trace free. Too high and you get inverse ghosting, too low, you get ghosting so once you set it you don't really want to change it. Input lag is really irrelevant for the option.

so if i put it on high will the response time be lower? Whats the best option for cs go?

Yes but too high and you get inverse ghosting. You just have to figure out what's the highest without getting issues. It maybe different even on the same model monitor so we can't tell you when it will for you.
