On an external disk, I have a (Acronis TI) backup of the XP (fully updated) system disk made on an old computer. The system disk of that XP system was "J:". Now I want to restore that system disk to a new partition on a disk (not the first SATA drive which is an SSD) of the new computer, mainly to be able to use (after adding win 8.1 in multiboot) all the games that were installed on that XP system disk.

Will that restored XP system boot up and recognize the system disk as "J:"? If not, how can I change the "settings" of that XP so that it boots the next time?

If the backup image was created on an old computer, you cannot use it on your new computer.

A backup image can only be restored to the same motherboard (ie same PC) on which the backup was created.
