restore to factory default

i went from windows 8 to 8.1
i wish to return to factory default but when i try i get hard disk configuration is not set to factory default can i get a disk to remedy this

Is this a home built or bought system? If home built, zap the HD and start over, factory bought, either use media that came w/ it or get original media from vendor.
