Question Restoring image using Ghost32 8.0

Hi,
I have an image on my laptop that I want to put on a different SATA HDD using USB cable.
Using Ghost32 8.0. Have done this many times without problem.
However this is first time trying to put on this particular HDD (usual HDD obsolete)
Ghost does not see the HDD. I have formatted it (NTFS)
Windows does see the HDD, I can put files on to it, and delete them.
What could be the problem?

Different external HDDs use different controllers and ghost is very old now so it can't see newer controllers.

Do you mean Ghost in general or the version I have? Would getting a later version be any use?

I don't think there is any newish version of ghost,last one is 10 years old.
People have moved on to acronis true image or macrium reflect or the free clonezilla.
