Restoring my dream rig.

Hey guys,
My 3 year old dream rig is a bit more sluggish than I’m comfortable with. Could anyone tell me what components I may need to replace. Here are my specs: asus z170 pro gaming MB, intel i7 6700k, ASUS strix gtx 1080 oc GPU, 32gb Corsair lpx vengance @3200 MHz, 512gb ssd boot drive and 3tb hdd.

Looks like a pretty nice PC to me. Assuming this applies to gaming?

What is your monitor resolution/refresh rate?
Any particular games you're having trouble with, or all?
Sometimes systems get bogged down by all the junk on them. Have you tried wiping your OS drive and reinstalling Windows? (I know it's extreme)

I have a hard time recommending a CPU+Mobo upgrade when it's probably not going to improve your situation by a landslide.

Have you played around with OC-ing your CPU or at least enabling MCE so all cores run at the single core turbo frequency?

Yeah there isn't much upgrading to be done there unless you're willing to spend $750 or more even then it won't be Earth shattering better

If the installation of Win is 3 years old then definitely time for a re-installation.

Other than that, not really anything hits the eye as critical or obvious to upgrade.

When you write sluggish, can you elaborate a little? Game performance? Overall loading times?
