How do I restrict my c: drive from non-admin users. I know you can change the security options in 'properties,' but it keeps giving me errors. Also Do I restrict 'System' and 'Authenticated users' I do not want other users to see the contents (files, picture, etc.) of the drive, but since it is the boot drive, I want the user to still be able to use windows.

I have Windows 10 Pro.

Thanks in advance,
Neil

You'll have to setup each folder you want to restrict by right clicking and setting permissions. You really cant restrict all of Program Files, ProgramData, Windows or Users (each user is already set with permissions). Other folders you can but be careful!!!

I'd suggest putting sensitive data on a separate drive, but if you cant, put it in a separate folder on the C drive that is stored in a "shared admin" folder with the permissions set to the local system group "Administrators"

I do not think you can as windows must run from the C: drive anyone who logs in must have access to at least some part of it to run windows.

you can encrypt folders and password protect folders but the entire drive is problematic at best.

you could resize the partition on the C: drive and secure the newly created D: drive but the C: drive, IDK if you can do that to the entire drive

If all you want to do is make sure that other user can's see your files, then keep all these files in your user account. Then, create additional, non-administrator accounts for other users. Non-Admin account users will then have access to files in their accounts and the programs loaded on the PC. But, can't access your admin account, files or change overall PC settings.

This is one of the key reasons companies use Win 10 pro. A PC can be shared and users are restricted to what they can do/see on the PC.
