Solution
m2 and pci-e ssds are the up and coming thing--couple those with a skylake cpu and pascal gpu

and a good burgundy and you will be more than happy

If you're in good health, 63 YO final build is a little soon. That build will mean nothing in 10 years. 😀

Not too worried about the long dirt nap

Historically spending $2-3k every couple of years on tech (Equal amount annually on good wine). Retired will mean moving new platform builds out to a 5 year schedule or giving up the good hooch. Fireball is fine, but there is nothing like a good Burgundian Pinot. Hence, tech budget will take a hit.

Thanks for the thought

You got to do what you got to do, my customer had to cut back to one girl friend he was just getting too tuckered out. God bless him!

Food for thought.

Already the tech support for adult children, other family and the occasional passing strnger

Maybe I can call Patriarche et Fils. User Interface Facilitation Providers and take a write off for a couple of cases of Grand Cru - just for balance

Ditto for me.

Thank you everybody. Consensus - wait for Skylake. Invest in M2 or PCIE ssd. Wait for Pascal.
