Question Returning Logitech Z207 Speakers

I have submitted a return on Amazon for my new Logitech speakers and marked them defective but I noticed some weird crud where amplifier is and not sure if it is from something I did or it came that way from the manufacturer. I nervous about sending them back because Amazon might claim that I caused that and charge me a fee. The speakers which I am sending back work perfectly besides the fact that when I change the volume the windows tone sometimes sounds distorted. I not sure if I should keep the speakers because they work great besides that very minor problem or send them back and risk getting charged a fee, what would be the right decision?

Well did you do something that may have caused the "crud" you are talking about? If they are new and you did not do anything to them oddly, then return them if you don't like the distorted sound issue.
