So this is my first build I've ever done. I'm trying to make a college computer that will also be able to handle games pretty well at mid to high settings. My budget was around 500 dollars so I'm a little high right now but if you have any suggestions please let me know! Would this set up be able to play games pretty well and also be a good computer desktop? http://pcpartpicker.com/user/xram67/saved/YFtbt6

First of all, you wont need that Evo Unless you are planning to overclock. I've heard a little bit about AMD stock heatsinks being a little loud, but I think they've fixed that problem. You can also save yourself a lot of money by going for a 500-600w PSU. In addition, you can save 20 more dollars if you buy a used MOBO, but look at the condition. Overall a pretty good build, although I would recommend an 8320/50 when you upgrade

This meets your budget and is a little better:

I see you didnt pick a case or operating system - do you need these?

If not get rid of my case and get an i3-4160 instead :)
