Reviving 1155 Socket in 2018 - Does it worth it?

Hi all,

I am about to build a high-end pc when prices fall back, meanwhile i was thinking of reviving my old 1155 socket with a used i7 3770 or possibly a Xeon E3-1270 v2 that can be bought for a fair amount of dollars. I 'm using my pc mostly as a common desktop but i also do some casual gaming. Thing is my i5 3340 is starting to struggle with the latest AAA titles that demand high frequency multi-threaded calculations. Typical example is Battlefield_1. My board cannot overclock as it's in a low end budget tier so K cpus are not in my concern. I ve seen some benchmarks and passmarks for the above cpus and hell they look like are still smoking 6th and 7th gen processors. Is it true? Does it worth it?

Solution
"Casual game" and Battlefield 1 do not belong in the same sentence. Battlefield 1 is very demanding, especially from your graphics processor. Grabbing an I7 and a possible graphics upgrade should do you a bit of good.
