Question RGB LED Help

Hello All,

Full disclaimer: Total newb when it comes to RGB Lighting, so hoping to learn a bit and get some help. I am looking for assistance with getting all of my RGB on the same page. In a nutshell, I bought a DIYPC D480 case that has a remote controlled fan/LED hub. I can control fan speed, RGB lighting effects, etc. from this hub via an IR remote. This hub DOES NOT connect to the motherboard, it is powered via MOLEX and plugs directly into the PSU. My motherboard does not support Aura so that isnt an option here. The fans and case look great! The problem I am having is that I also have an RGB LED graphics card support and want to connect that to the hub to sync everything. Turns out the GPU support has a typical aura 12V 4 pin connector and attaches to a different IR sensor. The hub does not have a slot big enough for the 4 pin aura plug-in that came with the GPU. Currently, the two RGB effects are not synced and they operate off two different remote controls (super annoying!). I figure there must be an adapter out there that connects 4 pin aura (GPU support) to a small 4 pin LED input (on the hub) [maybe 8mm LED?] so that the GPU support LEDs could run off the same hub instead of running to a whole different IR remote. I tried the two products below and struck out. Both 4 pin male inputs for these are too big to fit in the hub that came with the PC case.

So ultimately, my question is, do they make 12V aura to small 4 pin LED adapter that could connect the GPU support LED to my main hub so all RGB can sync up? I have included photos/diagram of the hub and current setup linked. The PC case that this came with is here: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16811353136. DIYPC support has not replied to my email to support. Hoping to gain some clarity before I throw more money at possible solutions. Thank you in advance for your help!

First of all, congratulations for the diagrams.
Is a Hub or a controller ? The RGB of the fans are managed by Aura Sync or by the controller ?
What GPU do you have ? An Asus GPU ?
What motherboard do you have ? I understand not an Asus motherboard.
I think that is a controller, not a hub.
For the other RGB devices do you use a software ? I think not.
What model/brand is ? If so, I think you will not be able to sync your GPU RGB lights with the other ones, since you don’t use a motherboard software.
Do you think to link your Hub/ controller with your motherboard to sync the GPU ?
The RGB headers on the motherboard are input headers, it enabeling you to controll the RGB fans or other devices, with the motherboard software ( Asus Aura, Gigabyte Fusion, etc). The RGB of the GPU is controlled in all cases by this software.
If this is a controller, will not be possible to sync all devices, because it use its own software.
Even if your controller have its own software, like Corsair have for example, I think will not be possible to sync the GPU lights this way.
But I will be more clarified after your answers.

Searched deeply, I found this, the discution is about a controller, not a hub

Hi Violett,

Thank you so much for the reply and the info. Answers to your questions below.
1.) It's definitely a controller, my apologies for using the two interchangeably. The handheld remote control can control RGB effects and fan speed (on/off included).
2.) GPU is a Powercolor Radeon RX 570, it does not have any LEDs built directly on to it that I know of. The support (which has the RGB LED effects) is an aftermarket purchase to prevent the GPU from sagging.
3.) Motherboard is Asus Prime B350-Plus. I could not find anything in the manual/specs that says it supports Aura. It does have an RGB Input for LED effects on a CPU fan (#3 on the manual diagram), but other than that, I can't find another header for Aura. MB Manual: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...E13723_PRIME_B350-PLUS_UM_V3_WEB_20171114.pdf.
4.) No software for other RGB fans, they are run off the controller.
Please let me know what you think my best option here is. Thank you again for your assistance!

Thanks,
Sayer

Hi ! You have only one RGB fan header on your motherboard ( no.3 in the manual).
Your motherboard does not support Aura.
It will work. Connect the GPU support with the controller.Since you want to sync the RGB lights of the GPU support, not the GPU lights, I don’t see any problem to obtain the sync.
Your RGB GPU spport will be synchronized by the controller, not by the motherboard.
About the adapter, I don’t know, sorry. I don’t think to exist an adapter. Just try to find a cable with a proper connector for your controller. What brand/model is your controller ?
You can also to upload a picture with the connector of the GPU support near the controller connector, maybe it will be usefull for forum users more experienced than me.
And you can edit the title of this thread to be more relevant for the final problem, for example”how to connect”, same time to ask for moving the thread in a better forum section for the question.
Good luck !
