RGW II in the works

Hi,

I always considered the upcoming AGW (Anglo-German War) from
Schwerpunkt to simply be RGW on the Western Front i.e. some minor
engine-tweaks and a new set of scenarios.

But in a recent exchange in "the other ng" James Cobb convinced me that
it is more or less a completely different engine/game and here's the
surprise twist : the new AGW engine will be ported back to the Russian
Front in a new game, creating what is in effect RGW II.

After the lean 2004 it indeed seems as if in 2005 we're getting deluged
in wargames. Should make the "2005 Wargame of the year" contest a bit
more interesting.

I've just won a little bet with myself that this was going to crop up
:) - I think he's aware of the issue - and if not, he's got a lousy set
of beta-testers and never reads reviews :)

Someone should just make Mr. Dockal pay ten cents to his charity-of-
choice every time he or his testers have to click "OK" and dismiss a
dialog box.

Even after taking good advice and trying that "Push The Flippin'
Button" (?) utility, the interface issues still, IMO, sink what's
otherwise a damn good effort.

Of course, I'll almost certainly get RGW II and give it a try.

Ok, my bad - I hadn't been keeping it under close tabs and tend to take
"lone developer" dev plans with a grain of salt. Glad to see it reach
fruition.

Sure looks like it :)

Um, don't really think this is new news. This is pretty much how it has
always been portrayed, the only point to be decided that he spoke about was
whether to immediately redo the eastern front or publish another title
first. If the improvements to AGW from RGW are only half as good as they
sound this will probably be the boardesqe wargame series to play for years.
