Does Riddick get guns in the mine level? If so,I guess I missed it. The
mines are very tough with no weapons.

There's a gun - think it was some form of electrical tranq gun (been a
while). You can use it to knock out lights and knock the guards off
their feet (they'll recover though so you have to go up to them and
stamp on their necks). Trying to remember where I found the first one
(was it at the bottom of the lift when you speak to the guy there?) -
may have to dip in and play that part again - I'll post back

Thanks.I'll look around for the gun. One other question about entering the
mines. I went through the "main power"? room near the guy who wants his
sunglasses. Can you get out of that room back to max2 once you enter? I
know there's a way from the mines(haven't got there yet) but the main power
door is locked after you enter.

Just had another look (didn't have a useful save near there so had to
fight through - forgot how fun this is - have to play again after
Painkiller).

I rode the lift down (on top of it - with two guards in it). Took them
out and then a third I met on the way. Managed to get through Security
Checkpoint by running and jumping (there's a mech in there I cant beat)
into the upper mines, to the left, took out one guard, past a second and
up stairs. Took out a guard talking to a con. He tells me to take out
another guard with a pass. Do this, go back to the con, use the pass in
the door next to him. Down an elevator - buy the gun from the con at
the bottom. Short version obviously - not as easy as I made it sound.

Your other question - no idea - good thing about this game - numerous
ways to do it. I did go back through the part you mean but it was
*much* later in the game.

HTH.

There are secrets in the mines BTW. The hardest one involves the locked
elevator near the start of the mines. If you are playing with the
director's commentary on, you get a nice congratulatory message from the
developers for figuring it out :)

Well, he does have the tranquilizer gun, and that's the best gun in
the entire game. Other than that, no. The first half of the game
you're basically unarmed.

There is no patch for CoR. You are running XP without even SP1?

Yea, that's what I figured but I thought even the pirates had gotten
around getting the service packs too. I guess only the smart ones.

OEM version of XP Home (full not upgrade) is only £55 plus VAT. The
cost of a couple of games. No excuse.

Not giving money to the Microsoft Monopoly is excuse enough for anyone.
Don't feed the monopoly.

Seems hilarious to me that you need a legit, fully up to date version of XP
before you can get your warez to work !
Ironic ?

There's also a shock gun in the 1st dark room you enter. (2 guards and
a tech working on the lights) The gun is on the counter to the left of
the control panel the tech is working on.

You can exit the mines through the room where the guy with the glasses
is too. You end up climbing on some stuff and walking along the top of
the wall and end up just above the guy in the riot suit.
